Coming Soon: My TOP 10 San Diego COMIC-CON 2018 Trailers (Film + TV)

Hello Everyone!

Comic-Con is one of my favorite events of the year! I’ve only been on Comic-Con Portugal so one of the medium-term dreams on my bucket list is to visit Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC).

For those who don’t know “Comic-Con International: San Diego is a nonprofit educational corporation dedicated to creating awareness of, and appreciation for, comics and related popular artforms, primarily through the presentation of conventions and events that celebrate the historic and ongoing contribution of comics to art and culture.”

Really,  if that’s the case, where have you been living for the past 50 years? Comic-Con has been around since the 70’s! It has spread all over the world, inspiring other communities to endure comic and art promotion and celebration. Here in Portugal, Comic-Con is going to its fifth edition and I hope it continues that way!

Of all the events, workshops, cast interviews, and cosplayers, SDCC is the event where the most anticipated movies and TV shows of the following months / next year will finally be presented to the media! The newest trailers/teasers are revealed, as well as all the info that can be shared about the Fall season’s upcoming entertainment.

And here my TOP 10 of things in no order in particular.

Again, this is not “the best trailers” list, this is what I want to watch!

Shazam!

“A boy is given the ability to become an adult superhero in times of need with a single magic word.”

It seems like a light fun movie. It resembles the comedic aspect of Spider-man: Homecoming. Zachary Levi is amazing and I think he’s going to be a funny character!

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

“The second installment of the “Fantastic Beasts” series set in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World featuring the adventures of magizoologist Newt Scamander.”

Good description IMDB. Very enlightening. I’m a Harry Potter fan, J.K Rowling lived in Portugal and inspired the story by some of my cultures, Dan Fogler (who plays Jacob in the movie) is doing a panel on Comic-Con Portugal this year, Eddie Redmayne is one of my favorite actors of his generations… Everything is in place for me to watch this.

Aquaman

“Arthur Curry learns that he is the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, and must step forward to lead his people and to be a hero to the world.”

I’m really tired of all the “Marvel Vs DC” crap, they’re just superheroes! Why do people constantly have to make a big deal out of this and suck all the fun of it? I’m going to watch it because it is Khal Drogo. That’s it. I love the sea and its nature, but the underwater scenes seem stupid. Come on haters, I know you’re coming.

Glass

“Security guard David Dunn uses his supernatural abilities to track Kevin Wendell Crumb, a disturbed man who has 24 personalities.”

This movie connects the movies Unbreakable and Split. The cast is incredible and I hope it to be at least as dark as the others – which I need to rewatch before this one comes to the cinema!

Roswell: New Mexico

“A reboot of the teen drama, ‘Roswell’, which centered on the residents of Roswell, New Mexico where aliens lived undercover among humans.”

No disrespect for the other networks, but I think CW is really trying this Fall Season! Even when we didn’t have any info on this, I had already decided to watch it – I watched the original version when I was 18 and fell in love with it. And then they put actors from Vampire Diaries and Pretty Little Liars in here and I couldn’t resist that even if I wanted to.

The Gifted – Season 2

“In a world where mutated humans are treated with distrust and fear, an institute for mutants battles to achieve peaceful co-existence with humanity.”

Returning to the “crap” the only reason I’m on Marvel’s side is that of X-Men. And therefore, you can conclude that I will always watch anything X related. Nonetheless, I think this tv show is awesome, especially the cast!

Riverdale – Season 3

“A subversive take on Archie and his friends, exploring small-town life, the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale’s wholesome facade.”

Don’t have anything to say, I loved how the last season ended and can’t wait for the next one!

The Man in the High Castle – Season 3

“A glimpse into an alternate history of North America. What life after WWII may have been like if the Nazis had won the war.”

Every season gets better and better. And as they announced this trailer, they revealed that a fourth season is also coming! If some of you have read this – the book from Philip K. Dick with the same title, just let me know in the comments! I’m curious to read it but want to know some opinions first!

Legacies

“Hope Mikaelson, a tribrid daughter of a Vampire/Werewolf hybrids, makes her way in the world”.

The description also could be “Alaric becomes professor X and opens the Salvatore School for the Young and the Gifted” (can you tell I love X-men?). The Vampire Diaries was one of my favorite tv shows and at the time I was also following The Originals, but then a hiatus came and I never continued. I liked this trailer so much that I’m considering watching all of five seasons of The Originals just to get to know Hope better.

Homecoming

“Employees at a secret government agency are eager to re-enter civilian life.”

I don’t know what this is going to be about, but Julia Roberts is some kind of Psychologist, this is from the creator of Mr. Robot and there’s a dead fish. It sounds just right to me.

SDCC is already confirmed for next year and it will be his 50th anniversary! The 2019 edition is going to happen on July 18-21.

That’s it for today!

Did you follow this year’s CCSD?
