Tuesday Photo Challenge – Season

Hello Everyone!

This week’s challenge is about Season, and since I always choose different approaches to challenge, here you have a non-related weather/christmas season photo.

December is always one of my favorite months because besides Christmas there’s also my birthday – let’s be honest, for like the first 10 or 15 years of our lifes, these are the most special days of the year. I have to wait an hole year to have my both days.

But, for the last three years, December also represented two things – Comic Con Portugal and Star Wars! Not that I’m a big Star Wars fan, I follow the news about the saga and have seen all the movies, but I don’t think it’s the best saga or story in the world (sorry fans, don’t kill me); But Comic Con is a big part of my life, I’m a huge nerd and having four full days with fellow nerds, buying geek stuff and meeting my favorite book authors / actors and directors is just like paradise.

Since it is also the big premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi this week, I bring you a photo that I took on the very first edition of Comic Con Portugal, back in 2014. I don’t know who the cosplayer is, but his costume and props were amazing!

I also want to say that this photograph is the original one, I didn’t use any photoshop this week (except putting my name).

    1. I know a lot of families that go to the movies on the 25th, it’s a tradition as good as any – like if you’re not religious/ don’t mind skipping some rules and/or you celebrate christmas by being with your loved ones, it doesn’t really matter where.

      1. Yep. Wife’s entire family is Hindu. They used to celebrate it. Until we were married and I explained it was a religious holiday. Then things got difficult when the kids entered elementary school. Schools don’t understand the challenges they create for families by doing Christmas type crafts etc. It was a challenge to explain why we don’t have a tree or why they don’t get presents etc. I just wish if we are going to have a mandatory national holiday that has an ethnocentric religious history that we honor all the others with a day off or … abolish Christmas as a mandatory national holiday.

      2. Totally agree with you, the system is not prepared to handle all the students’ lifestyles. We live in a mixed world and we should learn about other cultures, that’s the basic step for a prejudice-free Society ! I dont mind christmas as an holiday because despite the religion – in Portugal the most popular is the catholic – everyone has the same celebration: decorations, presents and family dinner on the 24th and family lunch on the 25th. Then the religious families have specific rules about the food and the holiday schedule to atend the church. But for atheists like me, it’s just a porpose for a family reunion .
