Hello Everyone!

As you may know, this week Pantone revealed the new color of 2018: the blue-based purple Ultra Violet 18-3838.

Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, refers the color suggests “mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now. The vast and limitless night sky is symbolic of what is possible and continues to inspire the desire to pursue a world beyond our own.”

“From exploring new technologies and the greater galaxy, to artistic expression and spiritual reflection, intuitive Ultra Violet lights the way to what is yet to come.” This is a very motivational approach to the meaning of the color impact, which I love! Also,  “the color is often associated with mindfulness practices, which offer a higher ground to those seeking refuge from today’s over-stimulated world. The use of purple-toned lighting in meditation spaces and other gathering places energizes the communities that gather there and inspire connection.”

It is interesting how two weeks ago I was talking about the origin of the color purple (check in here if you want to learn fun facts about fashion History!) and now it has been selected as the color of 2018! It surely have more secrets to discover which I’m willing to research. And with that, as I said on that post, purple is a color that not everyone is confortable around. Despite being a “dark” color, it often drives atention and it can turn a look to a more cheap and “goth” side, if we don’t choose the right pieces.

And because of that, today I bring you two ways of sliding some purple into your closet! From a formal to a casual look, if it is a color you’re not used to and not want to commit right way, just try some accessories first and then start styling it! Both the looks I’m showing you are winter looks, maybe in the Spring I can make a fresh version of this.

I choose some classic pieces on black/nude tones and added some purple sprinkle on the shoes and on the make up. Start with the shoes, the bag or even a simple scarf – if you like to see yourself with the color, if you think it complements your skin/hair color and it “feel it”, just purple your life!

Casual Look

On the casual look I decided to go crazy and show you a cute but stylish option. With the main focus on the pleated skirt, I combined it with a pair of black AllStars and a funny confortable t-shirt for an easy breezy touch. The details are on the embroidery of the biker jacket as well as on the make up, with some bold purple lips. Nude accessories and a hat for the bad hair days and you’re ready to start 2018 on the Top!

I hope you liked the looks!
